Hatha YogaHatha Yoga uses many postural, breathing, and meditation techniques to create good health and well being, in order to achieve peace of mind and eventual self- realisation. Within the broad realm of Hatha Yoga: Asana is the bodily position,
a visible, external expression of form. Pranayama involves breathing
consciously and with awareness so that Prana (life force, vital
energy) can flow into and move around the body. Mudras are symbolic
movements, attitudes and gestures, such as hand or whole body positions,
taken up in order to hold or seal energy (prana). Drshtis are specified
looking places. When the gaze is taken to a particular point and held
there, the attention becomes very calm, clear and focused. |
